2012 - A New Year. A New Start.

January 12, 2012
Hi guys, it's been a while since I last updated my blog. I have been down in Cape town for 1 month doing shoots, interviews and marketing the Mr SA Brand as well as receiving exposure as a Mr SA 2012 Finalist. I even missed christmas and new years with my family to do so. I suppose my ambition and drive made it easy to be away from them during the festive period even though I missed them tons. I hope you all had a great holiday and all feel refreshed and have many resolutions for 2012. I have many objectives in the pipeline so will be very busy from now onwards. There are only 2 more months until the new Mr South Africa is announced and I couldnt ask to be amongst a more deserving TOP 12 who all have their respective dreams and goals going forward. I am looking forward to going back to Cape Town in Feb for a weekend away with the Top 12! My motto for 2012 going forward is below in the picture I've uploaded. This is how I live my life and means a lot to me. Will be updating more often.

Yours Sincerely,
Your Mr South Africa 2012 Finalist

Mr SA 2012 Top 12 Announcement

December 2, 2011
WOW! I can finally confirm that I have been selected as one of theTop 12 Mr South Africa Finalists. No words can describe the feeling in knowing I am among one of the Top 12 Finalists which was announced on my 24th Birthday on Saturday the 26th of November at Afrique Boutique Hotel in Ruimsig (my home suburb). Because of this reason I will never forget my 24th Birthday and will always cherish it as such a special day in my life. One step closer in the right direction in following in the footsteps of the inspirational Adriaan Bergh. I got the chance to meet all 11 finalists on the day of my 24th Birthday and can honestly say that we all hit it off and after a few hours of knowing each other were already exchanging bbm pins. haha Thank you guys for being so down to earth with me. I think I have met some amazing, genuine guys who I can now call my friends and am so glad as for me personally it is about the journey and this entire process. Thank you Mr SA 2012 Team for this honor. I ensure to be the best I can be from here until the final crowning in March next year. No matter what happens I will always stay true to me. AMBITION WITH PURPOSE.

Sincerely,
Your Mr South Africa 2012 Finalist

Featured in the New Age National Newspaper

December 2, 2011
I recently was interviewed by the New Age National Newspaper which is available across South Africa. I spoke about the sterotypes of 'Pageant Type Competitions' and what that has done with regard to feminists who argue that woman and men who enter these competitions are objectified. I was strong in my opinion and during the interview in seeing that I change the Journalist as well as our country's perceptions of Mr SA being a "pageant' and more about the winner being a role model and ambassador for his country. I think with the tone of the interview, I set out what I have achieved. Thank you New Age and Carly (editor) for the great article!

A huge thank you to UJfm Radio Station for inviting me to their studios, it was so awesome going back to my old university. Thank you to Nick Cruz who interviewed me on the drive time show 95.4fm. I had such a great time live on air chatting about the Chrysalis foundation, what epitomizes an ideal Mr South Africa and my journey thus far. Also thanks to all the listeners who called in who supported me. The team were so down to earth and very welcoming. Thank you UJfm!!!
